Custom Carved Henry .17HMR

Have you ever thought of putting your company’s logo on a gun? Maybe you have an employee who is retiring? What about a thank you gift to a special customer? What better way to show your appreciation then with a custom carved gun stock with your company’s logo carved and hand painted on the gun stock? This is a very unique way of showing your appreciation for your employee or special customer.
The gun you see here has been custom carved on a Henry Repeating Arms .17HMR rifle. I have used an ivory composite for the name of the business. The machinery has been replicated down to the little flood light on the boom. All of this is part of their business’ logo. It has been carved and then hand painted to resemble the actual equipment owned by this company.
Wouldn’t you like to receive something as unique as this gun from a company as a thank you gift? It is a very engenious way to advertise your company. You can also do something like this for your company’s safety aware or when an employee retires. The possibilities are endless not to mention your company will be the hit of the town for years to come.
This gun and many others will be on display at the Cross Roads of the West Gun Show in Salt Lake City, UT. The show will be held September 25 & 26, 2010 at the South Town Expo center. I hope to see you there and thanks for visiting my web site. Happy Carving! Deb.
How Can I Get My Gun Stock Custom Carved?
How Can I Get My Gun Stock Custom Carved?
How can I get my gun stock custom carved? This is a questions I have been receiving for months now. Or What designs can I have carved on a gun stock? There are many other questions too. Normally, I will talk to you for a while to find out what your interests are. Then I can suggest some ideas to you. Or if you have a picture you like. A hunting trip you have gone on you remember. These are all ideas you can draw from to decide on your custom gun stock carving.

Do you like the basket weave design on the forend and/or grip of the gun? Do you like leaves, horns, hooves, tree limbs, or scroll work? How much of your gun stock would you like carved (butt stock, forend, reverse side of butt stock, grip)? Is your gun stock in need of refinishing? Do you have some large scratches? Is the gun stocks finish pealing? Do you want your design painted? There are so many thing you can do to your gun stock. It all really depends on what much you would like to see on your gun stock and how much of the gun stock either needs refinished or how much you would like to have carved. All of these things are what helps me determine the design that will go on your custom carved gun stock.
Each custom carved gun stock if unique and deserve my full attention. Not only to the detail but to the scene as well as the design of the scene being put on the gun stock. Its a passion to me to create a one of a kind work of art for each client I have. I look forward to working on your design and to carving it for you.
Thanks for visiting my web site. I look forward to chatting with you in person and carving a gun stock for you. Thanks again Deb L.
What Animal Would You Like Me To Carve Next?
What Animal Would You Like Me To Carve Next?
I am asking this question of my readers. What animal would you like to see me carve next? I have custom carved, or engraved, many animals on different gun stocks over the year. I have enjoyed carving each and every one. Some of them are more challenging then others. Still, I get a tremendous satisfaction from completing each carving or engraving I do. Now, I am wondering if there is a certain animal you would like to see carved? To date I have carved elk, moose, mule deer, a mountain lion, grizzly bear, and mountain goats to mention a few.
There are lots more animals out there to be carved. Which one should it be? Help me decide by commenting below. You will be the one making this decision for me this time. So hurry and leave your choice below in the comment section. I will be adding the basket weave and something else to the forend and/or grip of the gun.

Here are a few ideas. Please do not limit your decision on just these pictures. Antelope, Black Bear, Big Horn Sheep to name a few.
I will keep a tally of requests. The highest number will decide the next carving. The decision date will be August 15th. I will post the results here on my blog. The gun will be for sell and on display at the Cross Roads of the West Gun Show in Salt Lake City, Utah, this coming September 25 & 26, 2010. I’m sure this gun will make any gun collector proud. Will that person be you?
Thanks for participating in this decision! Deb L
Winchester .30-30 Model 94 Gunstock Before And After
Winchester .30-30 Model 94 Gunstock Before and After!!!
In June of this year, I posted some before pictures of this gun. After working for over a month on this gun. It is finally finished. Each side of this gun has been carved. On the front of the gun was a medallion of a stage coach. I did not remove this. Instead I carved two trees, representing two people who have intertwined their together. I also put their names with the date their lives became one. On the reverse I put a picture of a memory the gun owner had of their past life together. You see… Pauly contracted cancer and passed away several years ago. This gun was hers, but John wanted something to remember their time together. This is the result.
Each side has been custom carved and then hand painted. I didn’t know it at the time I painted the gun., but the colors I chose are the colors of the horses each of them road. I guess there was some kind of influence there. When I John received his gun last night he stated, “This gun means a great deal to me. I will never let it leave my hands. Thank you so much.”
What Can We Give Our Eagle Scout?
What Can We Give Our Eagle Scout?
I was approached by parents of an Eagle Scout recipient. Their son has worked so hard to achieve his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout. Now with the awards night looming close. His parents have asked if I would do something special for their son. They brought me a Heritage Rough Rider .22 caliber pistol with faux pearl handles. After some major thought. I was able to come up with this idea for him. As you can see I have custom carved the barrel of the gun to acknowledge his award, along with his name. Then, on the other side, I have placed his parents sentiments. I am sure this award will be displayed proudly for all to see during his life time. He will be able to hand it down to his children. Inspiring his children to set their goals high and work for them.
Congratulation’s Dathan! We are all very proud of you!

Gunstock Carving and Repair
Gunstock Carving and Repair
How many of us have gone hunting and in the excitement of the hunt have dropped or banged your gun? Or maybe something has scratched your gun? Well, I can help! The first two pictures you see above are of my husband’s gun. This gun looked like it had been left out in the weather for years. As you can see the gun looks like a completely different gun now. The third picture is of a gun that had several deep scratches. As you can see there are no scratches now.
I can help you with your gun too. By carving a pattern on the gun breaths new life into your gunstock, and adds value. I do not work on the barrels (bluing them, etc.). Most scratches can be repaired like the guns listed above. Looking at the before and after picture, you would think it was a completely different gun. My husband was actually gonig to sell his gun becasue of its condition. Now, however, you can’t get him to part with it. There are other guns on my web site that have been repaired as well.
If you have a gun you would like repaired. Please contact me. Also, for your information, there are many guns listed on my web site that are for sale. If you find one you would like to purchase. Contact me via email. I will be glad to help you with the purchase and shippment. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to list them below. I look forward to working with you. Deb
Thank you
Thank you!!!
This last year has been a very special time for me. I have made many wonderful friends. For this reason, I would like to express my appreciation to all of you. You have helped me and inspiried me to step out of my comfort zone. First, I would like to thank YOU my clients for your support, kind words of encourgement, and for purchasing my art. It means a great deal to me to know my work is so highly appreciated. Secondly, I would like to thank all the teachers who have helped me understand how to use the Paragrave tool. Dr. Lew Jensen, Tamaree Littlefield, Keith Hone, Craig Hone, Darwin Dower, and Jeff Wolfe just to mention a few. All of you have given me encourgement and insight. Not to mention the knowledge of anatomy sculpting, wood carving, gunstock carving, leaf carving or answering stupid questions. The art I carve on the gunstocks and wood carvings would not be possible without your help. And last, my husband Allen, for your love and support, and for giving me the ultimate opportunity to express my creativity.
It is not easy to step out of your comfort zone and express your inner thoughts and desires. Or to carve the images you have floating around in your mind. Thus creating wonderful wood carving or sculpture. Normally, I would have made something I thought was nice. Then given it away as a gift. All the while hoping the recepient would enjoy it just a little. Today, I know my art is appreciated. By the over whelming response I received on a daily basis from you – my clients, friends, family, and teachers.
Thank you just doesn’t seem enough to express my deep appreciation. Still, that is all I can do for now.
THANK YOU! I am truly grateful! Deb
On a side note, this year is proving to be even more wonderful then the last. I am scheduled to go to a gun show in September. I will be at the South Town Expo Center on Sept. 25 & 26, 2010. Please come by and say hello. I would love meeting you in person!
CUSTOMIZED GUNSTOCK CARVING
CUSTOMIZED GUNSTOCK CARVING
.44 cal Golden Boy made by Henry. The gun will have the basket weave and a rope carved into. Giving this customized gunstock carving a unique flare. This will be another christmas gift for the owner. The rope will be a challenge to design it and then carve it. I am excited to see how this gun will turn out. I have had the opportunity to carve a gun for three of the four men in this family. Each have incorporated their version of the families brand. Each has the basket weave, their brand and then something different just to keep the gun original and the design unique. Each carving has been put on a Golden Boy rifle. I’m sure this gun will be handed down from generation to generation.
CUSTOM GUNSTOCK CARVING
CUSTOM GUNSTOCK CARVING
Sorry to say, this gun will not be carved. The pattern the customer had choosen would not fit on the gun. So we have elected not to carve the gun. We’ll wait and carve a rifle for their anniversary instead. This will give the customer time to design a custom gunstock carving.
With the snow here and more to come, I’m glad I can stay in out of the cold and enjoy another custom gunstock carving. The gun I am building a pattern for is an Thompson Center Encore pistol. This gun will be a christmas gift from his wife and children.
