Custom Carved Mule Deer Magazine Article
I would like to thank the Mule Deer Foundation for the article written about me in the September/October 2011 MDF magazine. It has been my pleasure to custom carve the guns for the MDF fund raisers. I look forward to carving the next gun stock for the MDF. They will be raffling off my next custom carved gun stock this coming February 2012. At the Sportsman’s Expo in Salt Lake City, Ut.
From designing the pattern, to creating the designs. To custom carving/sculpting the gun stock and then hand painting the gun stock to enhance the design. It is such a unique experience to watch it come to life. I know I will never get use to seeing my work take on a life of its own. It is something I will never get tired of. Still, to see the happiness in a customers eyes when I place their custom carved gun stock into their hands. It’s priceless!
I have included a copy of the the full article here for everyone to read.

Custom Carved Savage Model 99
Custom Carved Savage Model 99
Custom carved Savage Arms Model 99 is my next project. As I’m sure every gun collector knows, this gun was discontinued years ago. It is a very nice gun to shoot. Very accurate and dependable. I have been asked to carve a moose with the Hibiscus flower on this gun. This is a Christmas present for one of my clients wife. She has no idea she is receiving this gun. Many men would never think of giving a gun to his wife. Unless you are like this family. All are avid hunters and enjoy getting out and being in the outdoors. This gun will have a beautiful moose scene carved on the gun stock. It will be outlined with the Hibiscus flower. The forend and grip will have the basket weave along with something else to enhance the design. You will have to check back to see what gun stock art has been put on the grip and forend. The custom carving is all hand finished along with the hand painting that accentuates the detail of the carving. Gun collectors world wide will be envious of this gun. I’m sure it will be handed down from generation to generation. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to leave them below. Happy Halloween! Deb

Custom Carved Henry .17 HMR With Ivory Inlay
Custom Carved Henry .17 HMR With Ivory Inlay
After completing the ivory inlay class three weeks ago. I am finally been able to complete a custom carve Henry .17HMR with ivory inlay on the rifle. The gun has a logo of a company with the name inlayed in ivory. The logo will be custom painted to match the company’s logo. I am very exicted to show this gun to you. There are a few steps left for me to make before the carved gun stock is complete.
The ivory inlay along with the custom carved logo gives the gun a very rich feel. At least that is how I look at it. I will be posting pictures of this gun hopefully tomorrow, if not then by Monday.
The class I was fortuniate in taking was wonderfu. Keith Hone of Hone Studios was the teacher. This was to be his last class. I feel very lucky to have been able to be taught by one of the best master carvers in the world. Thank you Keith for all your years of hard work and dedication. You truly have inspired many people in your career. I am very grateful to have enjoyed your teachings and friendship. Thanks! Deb
